Do I need a specific phone to use Mobile Banking?
Mobile Banking works on any mobile phone with a data plan. Specific mobile devices and cellular service providers are not required to use Mobile Banking. The screen size and icons are automatically adjusted to the best size to fit your phone's screen size.
What functions can I perform through Mobile Banking?
Mobile Banking offers many of the features that are available to you through Online Banking. You can check your account balances, view your account history, transfer money between your Gate City Bank accounts, and pay bills using Online Bill Pay.
How do I register for Mobile Banking?
If you are already registered for Online Banking, you are ready to use Mobile Banking. No separate registration is required. Simply enter www.gatecitybank.com into the browser function of your mobile phone, and enter your Online Banking User ID and Password. The first time you log in using your phone, you will be asked to answer your two Enhanced Login Security validation questions. After you answer the validation questions, you will have the option to add extra security to your device so you won't need to answer the validation questions every time you log in.
If you are not registered for Online Banking, sign up today at www.gatecitybank.com. Click on the bold “Sign Up” link on the left side of your screen and follow the registration instructions. Your Online Banking account will be set up within 24-48 hours of this one-time registration.
Is there a charge for Mobile Banking?
Gate City Bank offers Mobile Banking as a free service for our customers. However, your mobile phone service provider may charge fees for the Internet access that is necessary to use Mobile Banking.
Mobile Banking is as secure as Online Banking. It uses industry standard security technologies (SSL, WTLS, and PKI) and security certificates, with 128-bit encrypted communication. A five-minute time-out and the prevention of set-up of new Bill Pay Payees from Mobile Banking add to its security.
